Scana Steel Björneborg refines steel in an integrated chain that includes electric arc melting, vacuum oxygen, vacuum argon degassing melting units, steelworks, heat treatment, a forge with a 4,500-tons press and a well-equipped machining workshop. Scana Steel Björneborg has ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ABS, RINA, DNV-GL Approval of Manufacturer, Approval BV Manufacture, Bureau Veritas Marine Classification Mode, DNV Manufacturing Survey Arrangement, Lloyds Classification Forgings, Lloyds Classification Steelmaking and Semi-finished Products, PED Inspecta, GL Material Manufacture certifcates.
Yearly production of Scana Steel Björneborg is 95.000tons, and also they have 45 different types of ingots which are between 4-75 tons weight.
The company is able to supply products up to 45 tonnes despatch weight, and with maximum length of 24 metres. Their customers include the oil and gas industries, shipbuilding, energy industry and manufacturers of heavy machinery.

Today SODERFORS STEEL, located north of Stockholm, is a well known manufacturor of steel products. We are specialized in high-alloy and high-purity steels for demanding applications and have extensive experience in forging, rolling, heat treatment and machining steel.
Their wide product line includes ball bearing steels, structural steels, stainless steels and tool steels. With capabilities for precise adjustments and customized processing, they go beyond simple compliance with standards. They make what the customer needs and wants: the right steel for the right application.
In company's facility, in forging section, they forge until the diameter 580mm, in felxible and advanced rolling section, they can roll complicated, symmetrical and assymmetrical forms. It is one of two companies producing the profile of the tool steel in the world. They produce 12-75mm diameter spherical bar, 5-55mm thick and 20-230mm wide sheet iron with using walking beam furnace, four fitted medium section mill, four fitted mill, cooling bed and cutting section. They optimize the consecutive rolling processes with Wicon simulation program and PLC systems. They also have ISO 10423:1994-E ve NORSOK M-650 heat treatment certificates.
They produce Duplex, Super Duplex and metal powder. Soderfors Steel's quality standard of powder metallurgy tool steel is "Super Clean - Super Toughness" and they can produce 10-580mm diameter bar and 400 * 500 * 2100mm blocks. In particular, it provides economic solutions for milling blocks and stock flexibility. It offers a wide choice for cutting and cold work applications.
They especially are more active in the Gas/Petroleum and steel industries. Their customers are system suppliers, component suppliers, steel producers and machinery producers. They export their 50% of products to Europe, Japan and USA markets.
